Vacation Bible School

Everyone was up early asking every 30 seconds if it was time yet.

We get in the car

We aren't even to the light yet...

Avery "Are we there yet?"
Mom " Does it look like we are there?"
Bella " Yeah"
Avery " No, Bella we aren't there yet"
Bella " I wasn't saying Yeah to you Brother"
Mom " If you knew we weren't there Avery. Why did you ask ?"
Avery " I couldn't help it"

So we pull up to the Church the kids are out of their seats in 2.2 seconds. I take them both in and get them to where they needed to be. Both of them so HAPPY they are there. I kiss them goodbye walk away and spent the next 3 hours in MOM Heaven! I forgot what it was like when it was just Chloe and I in the mornings.

After 3 hours of doing nothing besides playing with Chloe. I get the kids from VBS ask them how their day was and I get this....

Bella " MOM! why did you leave me here"
Avery " Do I have to come home? I had so much fun!"
Mom " Why are you upset Bella?"
Bella " I don't like it in this place, they all wear the same shirt"
Mom " Bella everyone has the same shirt because its fun "
Avery " I'm going to wear my shirt everyday! "
Bella " I am not going back and I am not EVER going to wear that shirt "
Mom " What did you have for Snack?"
Avery "Chocolate Pudding"
Bella " I didn't have snack, I had dinner and Vacation Bible School. I told them I wanted a snack, but they gave me dinner"
Mom " What did you have for dinner Bella?"
Bella "I had what Brother had"

At this point they started talking about something else. I left it along knowing that the only reason Bella was being that way because she was CRAZY tired.

After naps everyone is happy and cant wait to return to VBS tomorrow. And yes Bella asked if her shirt was clean so she can wear it.

Oompa Loompa's and here we go again....

Yesterday there was a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Marathon (on ABC Family).

So we watched the original one first then we watched about 20 minutes or so of the remake. Is it just me or does Johnny Depp creep anyone else out in this movie?

Anyway so I was talking about the Oompa Loompa's in the original movie.

Just then my son goes....

Hey Mom is it ok to call the "little people" Oompa Loompa's?

I think most everyone knows that we have been having issues with this. If not go back and read the blogs I wrote about it.

Me " Yes Avery, because they are Oompa Loompa's"

I thought this would be enough to end the conversation right then. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Avery " So are all "little people" Oompa Loompa's ? Can I call them Oompa Loompa's and not little people ?"

Me " Avery the little people were playing Oompa Loompa's. Just Like The man who plays Willie Wonka also plays Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean. They are just pretending like when you play dress up"

Avery " So are they little people, or Oompa Loompa's ?" Does that mean that Jack Sparrow isnt really a Pirate? He's playing Dress up? "

What does one say to that?

Thank god at this point Chloe was freaking out in the other room and I was able to run to get her so I'm really hoping that my son forgot.

I'm sure we will find out one day.

It was on my mind

This is what I think of when I hear someone talk of the Real World. This is where Season 3 was filmed here in Seattle on Pier 70 on Elliot Bay. We will never forget the famous Slap of Irene by Steven. They also went to the one place I cant wait to see... Nepal!

When in the world did the MTV hit TV show the Real World make its Television debut?

The year was 1992 and is now the longest running program in MTV history. They just announced their 21st season will take place in Brooklyn.

"This is the true story... of seven strangers... picked to live in a house...work together and have their lives taped... to find out what happens when people stop being polite... and start getting real...The Real World"

I do have to say when they first started they were "Real" people with "Real" problems and now the show is a joke.

Lets just hope that by the time my children are adults they will have better things for them to "try" out for.

Whatever happened to fear factor? I would rather watch someone eat something nasty than even think about another season of the Real World in production.

Until Next Time,
Just MOM
PS... In case you wanted to know somewhere out there in the world. There are many home videos of me and my friends shooting out very own Real World.

New Kids on the Block

Had a bunch of hits
Chinese food makes me sick
And I think its fly when girls stop by for the summer, for the summer
I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch
I'd take her if I had one wish
But she's been gone since that summer...

I couldn't help it! I had to post this video. This was the first thing that came to mind when I heard that the New Kids on the Block are on tour. The second thing I thought of was who in the heck is going to go see them. I was a bit young to really remember them, or to have ever been into them. So I picture a bunch of 30 year old women singing at the top of their lungs while yelling "I LOVE YOU". Oh and so they didn't feel dumb for going they made their pre-teen daughters go with them.

I know we were all at one point in time, or another into the "boy bands" heck I know I was.
I sat front row center at a backstreet boys concert and would do it again in a heart beat!

Gotta love LFO for their catchy song "Summer Girls" and well lets face it everyone remembers ..... What was that other boy band? You know that one with that Justin Kid? Gosh it has slipped my mind. Maybe I will think of it later...

Then there was 98 degrees with that blond chick's HOT ex hubby Nick. I'm trying to block her out of my memory forever. Miss "I know its Tuna , but is it chicken?" Baby it says " Chicken of the sea" and Babe " He's trying to use his Sears Card" Yes I watched Newlywed's on MTV. Sometimes I wish I could get that time back.

Speaking of MTV I was channel surfing today while the kiddo's were napping. I had no idea that the Real Word was still on. Aren't they running out of cities to have them in? Do people even want to be on the Real World anymore? I know I lost interest once they started making them work. Whats the fun in that? I guess it is called the "Real World" and well after all people do really work in the real world.

Nsync!

I knew would remember at some point.

I'm not sure why I felt I needed to share my feelings on the New Kids on the Block. I think we should be calling them the Old Men on the Block. Check them out on their official website not too bad, but I'm guessing photo shop was used A LOT.

So who's with me

Just Kidding I'm not going, but I would love to know if you are!

To Shower or Not to Shower?

This is the Question

Or should I say a Daily problem in our house. My big kids never were ones to get into anything and everything, nor did they ever take part in temper tantrums. My sweet baby Chloe has been a challange for a while now. We have now turned our house into a small baby jail, but she always finds something to get into or how to get into something that is locked, blocked or glued closed.

Once upon I wished for her to walk, because I thought that it would make life easy. I was so wrong so very wrong.

Today I had taken all the kids up to the playroom. I figured that everyone would stay busy long enough for me to take a quick shower and maybe shave my legs. I was able to get as far as turning the shower on. I had one leg in and here comes Chloe into my bathroom. The next minute or two was spent holding my shower door closed while trying to wash my hair with one hand.

Then I had an idea... So Chloe already screaming at this point because she wants to shower with me. It really couldnt get any worse than it was and I really knew I should shave my legs today because I was planning on wearing shorts and I needed to take a trip to old navy. I got out pulled out the pack n play and put chloe in it. She never once stopped screaming, but I was able to shave my legs, wash my hair with both hands. And when I got out of the shower I didnt have to hunt down anything because everything was still in my drawers!

Why didnt I think of this sooner?

I cant wait until tomorrow!

Are You Smarter Than....

A 1 year old?

So sweet baby Chloe is the first one in our house (children wise) that has figured out the safety latch on our stove.

A trip to the store will be in order to pick something else up to keep her out.

Just watch and see how she does it.

My Amazing Best Friend and a Special Gift

On Wednesday July 9th shortly after 9am my best friend Andra entered the OR where her left kidney was removed to save her son's life.

Both Andra and baby Andre are doing GREAT!!!

She is such a brave and wonderful woman who was able to do something that most of us will never know what it feels like. Give her son life for the second time.

Here are some links. Check them out they were all over the news Wednesday.

Saving our Planet

I'm sure that most of us do our part in saving our planet.

I try my hardest to turn the lights off when I leave a room. I don't run the water while I'm brushing my teeth. I use environmentally friendly cleaners and I don't use paper towels or paper plates. I try to recycle everything that I can and only put out 1 trash can on garbage day, but that doesn't always happen.

I do have a ton of laundry I wash everyday and I take long showers. Not everyone is perfect, but I think my 4 year old is. She gets mad when we pick flowers, and you shouldn't cut down trees. She wont touch meat because "Animals are our friends". She never flushes the potty and she would be happy never to take another bath again. She would be more than happy to wear the same thing everyday without ever having me wash it.

The best thing that I have ever seen from recycling would be. The pick up that my father restored.

Now that is what I call recycling!

I GOT IT!

After 6+ years of peanut butter and jelly sandwich making. I am happy to say that I have figured out how to stir the peanut butter without spilling it.

I know that's a long time, but I guess I was always in a hurry or just didn't have my thinking cap on.

As most of you know I'm a bit of a nut well kinda a nut about what my kids eat. I try to make sure its all organic and natural. Just forget that I took them to Mc D's a few short hours ago.

We eat Adam's peanut butter you know the one you need to stir then refrigerate. I have always had a hard time with the stirring part. Anytime I would stir it there would be this huge mess then by the time we got to the bottom of the peanut butter jar it would be so dry that you couldn't spread it on the bread. So I was forced to eat it, cause God forbid you not eat every last little bit you could scrape out of the jar.

So yesterday I figured it out!

The ART of stirring Adams peanut butter. You move the spoon up and down until it is fully mixed! OMG I didn't spill a drop!

Yes you must use a spoon. Because then that way when you are done stirring you get to eat whatever ends up on that spoon!

I hope everyone is having a great day, and I hope your having an even better day now that you know I can stir peanut butter!

Until next time I decide that I have something fun or interesting to share.

Cloudy with a chance of Monsoon

The Weather Channel:
Showers and Thundershowers likely with a high of 72F.

First off its cold I know its not even 10am yet, but I'm cold.
Second its like a monsoon out there.

I got up today walked into my kitchen then it hit me. We were out of cereal okay not fully out of it, but my children have decided that they no longer like regular life. So I loaded everyone up and decided to....

Are you sitting down?

Drive-Thur Mc D's for breakfast for the children. While I was ordering and I'm guessing this was my sign to just drive away. It was raining so hard and the rain drops were the size of golf balls I kid you not. Funny thing by the time I was ordering my breakfast ( Venti iced coffee with cream ) at Starbucks I think I saw the sun. Maybe I should just start giving the children coffee. Do you think it will help them help me clean?

I just wish the weather channel would have told me that not only was it raining today, but that we were going to get stuck in a lovely monsoon and not only is the whole drivers side of my car still wet. It made the ink on my punch card run.

What's a girl to do?

One last thing...
I think my 1 year old is speaking a foreign language. Does anyone know how to speak Chloe? Do you think Rosetta Stone offers that course?

Until Next Time,
Just MOM

My mind is blank so this is what you get

So I got up today and I was trying to figure something out clever to write about. I'm at a loss for words so this is my plan. I'm going to brag about all the cool things in my life!

So hang on tight cause here I go....

I have 3 of the coolest, fun, sweetest, fun , beautiful, fun, caring, fun ,kind, fun, funny, fun, wild, fun, crazy, fun, smart, fun, most amazing children in the WHOLE WORLD. There isn't a day that goes by that they don't make me laugh, cry, and laugh some more. Just in case I forgot to say it my kids are FUN! I cant think of a better way of spending my days. I'm so lucky I get to spend everyday with them. Okay I should stop now before I change my mind.

What else...

I have 2 of the greatest friends in the world. Andra my best friend of 13 years is one of the bravest women I have ever met. In 1 week she will be giving her son a kidney. She also has 3 of most wonderful boys I have ever met. They have smiles that can light up a room! We love you guys!

Tracy who decided to leave me and move to the other side of the country. I love ya girl, but I'm still trying to to get past the fact we wont see you every week. I wish everyone I know would have had the chance to meet you guys. For the last week I have made something at least once a day that I can serve in my yellow bowls. I'm thinking that my family is getting sick of soup and such seeing that its hot outside now. I have been thinking about making life size cut-outs of you all so then I can just move you from room to room. That way you are always with us. I need to know the kids measurements. So that might be a bit extreme, but at least you know I love ya.

What else can I brag about?

I make the best biscuits and gravy EVER.

Okay maybe not best ever, but my 4 year old tells me so.

So I'm not going to bore you any longer with this. I'm sure tomorrow I will have something fun or great to write about.
I hope I haven't caused anyone to fall asleep.

Love Ya,
Just MOM

"Seattle"

When I think of the beautiful City that I'm lucky to live in this is what I picture.

We spent most of yesterday walking around the Market. I forgot how much fun it was and how much the kiddo's like doing it. I really miss living just minutes from Seattle and everything that we can do there. Oh one day we will be back don't worry Seattle we aren't gone forever.

Here are a few photos that I wanted to share. Oh and I met the coolest artist yesterday and his paintings are amazing! It was all I could do not to buy one... I haven't even put the kids pictures up yet. Plus where would I put it? I'm thinking maybe I'll buy myself one for my birthday.
